Throughout the spring of 2023, the fort hosted several student groups from schools in the area. Groups visited three locations within the fort during their visits. First was a stop at the monument and museum, where students climbed the 166 steps for the best view ever. After that, they moved into the museum, where our docent, Bethany, gathered them around the model of the fort as it appeared in 1781. The second stop was a guided tour through the fort where David or Paul explained a bit about the battle, and led them through the sally port and covered way. The final stop was at the Ebenezer Avery House for a look at the very spot the wounded were tended following the battle. It was so much fun to see the energy and enthusiasm of these youngsters!
